Gentry County is located in North West Missouri. It is named for Richard Gentry, an early Missouri politician.
The seat and largest city are both Albany. The county is located in an extremely rural part of Missouri.

It borders Worth, Harrison, Daviess, DeKalb, Andrew and Nodaway Counties.
Main highways through the county include US-136, US-169 and MO-85.
